New 2015 Hyundai Sonata Debut Announced for New York Auto Show 2014

WardsAuto reports that Hyundai will launch an all-new version of its popular Sonata sedan early next year, with the car to be first displayed to the public at the New York motor show in April. The news comes from the brand’s American CEO, John Krafcik, who also used the occasion to praise the current model for its success.

No information whatsoever about what it will be like was shared, though, but judging by Hyundai’s more recent design and styling efforts, we at least know it won’t look as radical as it does now. We expect it to share its cues with the likes of the new Genesis.

In the meantime, the Korean automaker will be updating the current-gen model with ventilated seats and a full-leather steering wheel to keep it appealing, as well as adjusting the production output; they say demand for it is still high, and it has one of the “lowest days’ supply in its segment” – 42 days versus 60 days for Chevy’s Malibu or fellow group brand Kia’s Optima.
