Bugatti's New Meo Constantini Legend Model Debuts at Dubai Motor Show

The third in a series of six limited-edition Bugatti Legends models is dedicated to Meo Constantini, a close friend of company founder Ettore Bugatti, the head of Bugatti factory race team and a two-time winner of the Targa Florio race.

The Bugatti Legend Meo Constantini is also a tribute to the Bugatti Type 35, one of the most successful racing cars of all time, which Constantini drove in Targa Florio races.

The car debuted at the Dubai International Motor Show (November 5-9). Just like the previous two Legend models, dedicated to Jean-Pierre Wimille and Jean Bugatti, the Meo Constantini edition is based on the Veyton 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse and will be limited to only three cars, priced at €2.09 million each ($2.82 million), excluding taxes and transport.

Unique styling touches include aluminum wings, doors, parts behind the doors, the “medaillons” and corners of the front bumper. The parts are hand-polished and coated with clear lacquer. The carbon fiber parts are painted blue, France’s classic motor sport color, with the color “Bugatti Dark Blue Sport” being specially developed for the vehicle.

The silhouette of the historic Targa Florio race course is painted on the underside of the rear wing, while Meo Constantini’s signature is engraved by laser into the aluminum tank and oil caps and painted in silver.

The interior is completely upholstered in leather, with the roof, footwell, center sections of the seats and rear wall sporting the color “Gaucho”, a sophisticated cognac tone. The seat’s side cushions, arm rests, extended center console, door panels, dash panel, instrument panel and steering wheel are all trimmed in dark blue leather in the “Lake Blue” color. The cabin also features racing scenes and vintage car motifs on the doors, which have been laser-engraved into the leather trim.

Technically, it is identical with the Bugatti Veyron16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse, which means it’s powered by an 8-liter W16 engine producing 1,200hp and 1,500 Nm (1,106 lb-ft) of torque. The roadster accelerates to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 2.6 seconds and can reach a top speed of 409 km/h (253 mph) with the top down.

Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse Special has the Baby Blues in Paris

Bugatti's contribution to this year's Paris Motor Show is a new special edition model of the Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse, which is the most powerful version of the open-top model of the series.
Whenever Bugatti mentions the words "special edition", most of the times what it means to say is a unique color scheme for the exterior and interior of one of its cars, which holds true in the case of the Paris motor show model.

Tis the Time to Watch Out: Cool Timepieces for the Auto Enthusiast

A red and white McLaren and a bright yellow-helmeted driver behind the wheel storming down the track is one of the images that defined the 1980’s-era of Formula 1.
The driver was, of course, the late Ayrton Senna. And the watch he wore was always a TAG Heuer, something that made many young fans of the most charismatic driver the world has ever seen yearn for one.
The Swiss brand continues its partnership with the Woking-based F1 team, making sure that Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button flash their timepieces at every opportunity.
On the other hand, the most famous, if not really the most exclusive or expensive watchmaker in the world, Rolex, has linked its name not only with the late actor, racing driver and Indycar team owner Paul Newman, but also sponsors and big names, many major events after its most coveted model, the Daytona chronograph.

Indian Speed Bumps weren't Made for the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 [Videos]

As one of the most powerful and fastest production supercars in the world, the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 becomes the star attraction wherever it goes. And India is no exception.
One of the 300 Veyron coupes that Bugatti built over the years was spotted at the Shamshabad international airport in Hyderabad, which is one of the largest and most populous cities in India.
As you can see in the videos that follow, even though the Veyron has a height adjustable suspension, riding over Shamshabad's humongous speed bumps is easier said than done. Mind you, no Veyron was hurt during the filming of the video clips…

Video Quiz: Is this a Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Doing Donuts?

Given its lofty price tag (around $1.7 million) and the fact that it's rarer than sober night at Charlie Sheen's house (only 300 examples of the coupe were made), it's not very often that we see a driver of a Bugatti Veyron 16.4 doing donuts on the street, which is why this video captured our interest today.
However, we're not 100 percent convinced that what we're seeing through this phone camera video (note to the mobile device owner: next time, please hold it the right way…) is indeed a Veyron, though it does look and sound like it is.
You can check out the short clip after the jump and tell us what you think.

New Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport: 1,200HP and 415km/h - 258MPH [with 31 High-Res Photos]

If you're a fan of the Bugatti Veyron 16.4, then you're going to love the new, limited edition Super Sport model that was officially revealed on Sunday. The crème de la crème of the Veyron family is faster, lighter and of course, more powerful than the... banal series production model.

How much more powerful and faster, we hear you ask? Well, the carbon-fiber skinned Veyron 16.4 Super Sport gets a massaged 16-cylinder turbocharged unit pumping out 1,200HP, or 199HP more than the standard model (or at least that's the official number from the automaker).

Over the weekend, Bugatti's engineers took the black and orange Super Sport to the VW Group's proving grounds of at Ehra-Lessien nearby their headquarters at Wolfsburg.

"In the presence of the German Technical Inspection Agency (TÜV) and a representative of Guinness Book of Records the Super Sport achieved an average top speed of 431.07 km/h [268 mph]," said the company in a statement.

Video: Guess What Scared a 1,200 HP Bugatti Veyron Super Sport at Goodwood…

There’s nothing faster, short of a Formula 1 car, than a Bugatti Veyron, right? In particular, a Bugatti Veyron Super Sport boasting a 1,200HP quad-turbocharged 16-cylinder engine, four-wheel drive tech and a 258 mph (415 km/h) top speed. Whoever is behind its wheel must feel invincible, right?
Well, actually, no. A few days ago, at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, a Veyron Super Sport that was ready to begin its climb up the hill pulled over and let another car start first. What car was that?

Bugatti’s One-of-a-Kind “L’Or Blanc” Veyron Grand Sport Special with...Porcelain Fittings

Say hello to the world’s first car to wear fine porcelain on its body as well as in its cabin, the one-off Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport 'L'Or Blanc'. Admittedly, applying porcelain fittings on one of the fastest and most powerful production sports cars ever made doesn’t seem like a sound move, but when it comes to Bugatti, anything goes.
Created in partnership with Konigliche Porzellan-Manufaktur (KPM), the 'L'Or Blanc' was unveiled on Thursday at the porcelain manufacturer’s workshop in Berlin, German.
“At first, it seems to be an unusual idea to use porcelain in a car, especially in the world’s fastest convertible,” comments Dr. Stefan Brungs, Director of Sales and Marketing at Bugatti Automobiles. “But this is what Bugatti stands for: the realization of exceptional ideas whilst striving for the utmost in quality and aesthetics. This allows us to continue Ettore Bugatti’s heritage, who himself loved to experiment with new materials,” Brungs added.

Two for the Price of One: Amadou Ndiaye’s Bugatti Atless Concept

Two cars that helped establish Bugatti’s reputation as a world-class automaker during the difficult interwar period were the Type 35 and Type 57 Atlantic. Stunningly beautiful, intricately built and incredibly powerful, these two cars summed up all that Bugatti was and wanted to be.
Now, Canadian industrial designer Amadou Ndiaye has taken these two classic automobiles and melded them into one with his Bugatti Atless design study.

Last Bugatti Veyron Sold – But There’s Still the Cabrio…

Millionaires (or, rather, billionaires) around the world have just seen their list of “cars to buy” shrink by one model, as Bugatti announced the sale of the final Veyron 16.4, thus ending the astonishing hypercar’s production.
The lucky buyer who scooped up the last Veyron is an unnamed “European customer” who, nevertheless, will have to wait until next fall for his $1.7 million supercar to be delivered.

Gutsy Toyota Supra Driver Drifts Around $2 Million Bugatti Veyron

No matter how talented you are, it takes a lot of guts and an extra dose of craziness to attempt what you are about to see in the video clip after the break, because it’s one thing going around a Ford Pinto in circles and another when the car in question is a Bugatti Veyron priced close to $2 million.
The man behind this feat (if you can call it that) is 25-year-old pro drifter Derek "Buttsy" Butler from Ireland. Buttsy performed the…gutsy drift stunt around the exotic 1,001-horsepower supercar in a heavily modified Toyota Supra during this year’s Gumball 3000.

VIDEO: Bijan Pakzad’s Ostensibly Opulent Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport

On April 16, Iranian born fashion designer Bijan Pakzad passed away at a hospital in Los Angeles after a stroke. The man who became famous for dressing some of the most influential and well-known people in the world including President Barack Obama, Frank Sinatra and Carry Grant, also had a passion for cars. The Los Angeles-based designer not only amassed a huge collection of luxurious limos and supercars which he drove on a regular basis, but he also collaborated with some of the most renowned automakers.
Following a collaboration with Rolls Royce for the development of a limited edition version, Bijan also joined forces with Bugatti helping to create a bespoke series based on the 1,001HP Veyron, the latest being a Grand Sport. Bijan’s version of the open-top Bugatti hypercar was finished only six weeks ago and features a special two-tone theme and numerous other appointments. Follow the break to check out the video of the special edition Veyron Grand Sport along with commentary from Bugatti Design Director Achim Anscheidt.

Is the Cougatti Just the Purtiest 2002 Mercury Cougar you ever did see?

Sure, most people would love to have a Bugatti Veyron; sadly, at over a million bucks a pop we're talking a vehicle that's slightly out of reach for most consumers. Thankfully, one man and eBay have rectified this issue with something we'll call a Cougatti (or Bougar).
Based on a 112,000-mile 2002 Mercury Cougar with a V6 and automatic transmission, this one-of-one Cougatti has a starting bid of $89,000 and no takers as of this writing. Potential buyers get all the body work, 20-inch wheels, angel eye HID headlights, LED tails, two gas caps (one functional), and power windows/mirrors.
