Rolls Royce SUV Still on the Table; Decision Due in 2015

Rolls Royce is flourishing as its sales numbers show. These have been going constantly up for the last five years, so 2014 was marked by yet another record: 4,063 cars sold, but the number would probably be much higher with an SUV in the range…

Original Bentley Turbo R with Rolls Royce Phantom Snout Pegs the Question Why?

You can have a field day with all the Rolls Royce Phantom replicas we've shown you through the years, ranging from the typical Chrysler 300 conversions to China clones and head-scratching BMW 7-Series, Nissan Patrol, Ford Excursion and Hummer-based cars, but this one has us stumped, as it's actually built on an original Bentley Turbo R.

Is this the "Shittiest" Rolls Royce Phantom in the World? Would You Fix it?

If someone has half a million dollars (cash or not) to spend on a car like the Rolls Royce Phantom, you would naturally assume that they would have absolutely no problem taking care of it. Well, as they say, there are exceptions to every rule, and this repossessed 2005 Rolls Royce Phantom proves it…

Rolls-Royce Phantom to Launch in 2017

The Rolls-Royce Phantom has been with us since 2003 and has only received minor updates in 2009 and 2012. Some would say a new generation model is long overdue, but the truth is the Phantom has dominated its segment so firmly that there was no need for a new model.

Rolls-Royce Phantom Won't Get a Replacement before 2020, Says Report

Launched in 2003, Rolls-Royce’s flagship model, the Phantom, received its first facelift last year. That should be enough for a few more years, as the BMW-owned luxury car manufacturer doesn’t plan to offer a redesigned Phantom until around 2020.

The 2012 update brought improvements like subtle styling tweaks, updated electronics and an eight-speed automatic transmission with a new rear differential, and these will probably be the last major changes before a new generation model appears, given the extended period between the Phantom’s introduction and mid-cycle facelift.

Leftlanenews has learned from Richard Carter, director of Rolls-Royce Global Communications, that the Phantom has a planned lifecycle of 17 years. That’s way more than the “life expectancy” of an average car (8-10 years), but then again, the Phantom is anything but average. Carter said that when a customer pays $500,000 for a new Phantom, he or she doesn’t want the car to be outdated in just a few years’ time.

Therefore, if you have a Phantom, don’t worry, you still have 6-7 years before it's replaced and you may want to think about trading it in for the new model. The next-generation Phantom is a mystery so far, but rumor has it that the Phantom family may switch to a platform derived from the BMW 7-Series, just like the Ghost.

Rolls-Royce Takes Celestial Phantom, Chicane Phantom Coupé and Wraith to Dubai Show

Since the Middle-East is the largest market for Rolls-Royce’s Bespoke division, the luxury automaker is present at the Dubai International Motor Show with two Bespoke models – the Celestial Phantom and the Chicane Phantom Coupé.

In addition to the two one-of-a-kind cars, Rolls-Royce is also showing off its Alpine Trial Centenary Collection and the Wraith coupe, which makes its debut in the Middle East.

The Rolls-Royce Celestial Phantom may have debuted at the Frankfurt Motor Show this autumn, but the car came to Dubai with one important addition – or 446, to be exact. The door-cappings, center console lid and rear-privacy divider now feature 446 diamonds! The one-off Phantom celebrates the handover of the first Phantom to its owner at midnight on January 1, 2003.

The car’s color scheme evokes the night sky, integrating fine glass particles into the paint to achieve an alluring sense of depth and light. The theme continues on the inside with the Starlight Headliner that features the constellations exactly as they were at midnight on that historic evening.

Over a thousand fibre optic lights hand-woven into the Celestial Phantom’s headlining represent the stars. To make sure everything is authentic, the night-sky constellation arrangement was verified by the South Downs Planetarium.

The second Bespoke model on display is the Phantom Coupé Chicane, commissioned by AGMC, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars’ authorized dealer for Dubai, Sharjah and the Northern Emirates. The one-off vehicle incorporates design cues and materials that evoke Goodwood’s rich motor sport history.

It is the first contemporary Rolls-Royce that features colored wheels (matching the car’s Gunmetal main exterior paint finish), with the exterior being further individualized by the matte black bonnet and windscreen surround, as well as the Bespoke coachline. Inside the cabin, the traditional wood-finish makes way for carbon fiber, a reference to the materials used nowadays in racing cars.

Driver Proves 2013 Rolls Royce Phantom Can be Fun and Slightly Destructive Off the Road

A YouTube user named "TaxTheRich100", who you may remember from a recent video containing footage of a rare Bugatti EB110 SS, has shared a new clip with us, this time showing a 2013 Rolls Royce Phantom Series II – yes, that's the one officially introduced in March this year – in some politically incorrect action.
By that, we mean the driver took the £350,000 (~ €430,000 / US$560,000), 2.6 tonne beast for a mildly destructive ride on the picturesque British countryside.

Spied: Rolls Royce Ghost Coupe Makes Another Appearance on the 'Ring

Like many other European luxury carmakers, Rolls Royce is also looking outside its home market to increase sales, with the British firm's CEO Torsten Mueller-Oetvoes revealing plans to expand the number of dealers from 105 today to 120 in countries including Chile, Thailand and Vietnam, during an interview with Bloomberg News.

Rolls-Royce gets Artsy with "Art Deco Movement" Inspired Ghost and Phantom Models in Paris

The term Art Deco was coined in Paris after the 1925 Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes, which translates to International Exhibition of Modern Decorative and Industrial Arts.
It describes an artistic and design movement that begun in the 1920’s and influenced many aspects of 20th century design such as industrial products, fashion and architecture – a well-known example of which is the Chrysler Building in New York City.

New Mansory Rolls Royce Ghost Skips on the Gold Flakes

Most of you remember the Mansory-prepped Rolls Royce Ghost Gold Edition from this year's Geneva Salon - how can one forget such an eye-blinding proposal... The Swiss tuner is back with a new strictly limited edition version of the "baby" Rolls Royce, named for obvious reasons the Ghost White Edition, of which only three examples will be built.

Even though it features the exact same body kit with restyled bumpers, spoilers, side skirts and additional air vents as well as alloy wheel designs with the Gold Edition, this time Mansory skipped the Fast-&-Furious paint job and gaudy gold trim in favor of a simple white finish and unpainted 22-inch rims. The silly-looking boot lid spoiler is still there, but overall, a huge improvement over the Gold Edition.

All-Time Sales Record for BMW Group in the First Half of 2011

There’s a lot to be happy about in Munich these days. That’s because the BMW Group has had not only its best month ever as far as sales are concerned, but has also achieved an all-time sales record for the first half of the year.
This June, a total of 165,855 BMW, Mini and Rolls-Royce cars were delivered, an increase of 15.9% compared to the same month in 2010 (143,156 units) and also a new record for the Group. BMW sold 134,432 cars (+12.3%) and Mini 31,111 (+34.1%).

MINI Inspired by Goodwood Carries…Rolls Royce Inspired Price Tag at £41,000 or US$65,700!

Apparently, Aston Martin isn’t the only British automaker to lose contact with reality when it comes to pricing special edition models. Soon after Aston Martin slapped a €48,995 (equal to £44,100 and US$70,700 at the current exchange rates) sticker on its Colette-trimmed Toyota iQ…err… we mean Cygnet, the BMW Group division announced that its new MINI Inspired by Goodwood is priced at £41,000 (€45,600 or US$65,700).

Rolls Royce Owners Adds Some Color to Phantom Limo

Back in the mid-1990s, Volkswagen’s designers came up with a bright idea (literally…) involving the Polo supermini and the colorful theatrical character Harlequin. The result was the Polo Harlekin or Harlequin featuring a multi-colored body. Against all odds, the strange looking Polo proved to be a moderate success with Volkswagen boosting the initial production run from 1,000 cars to a total of around 3,800 units.
Apparently, the allure of a multicolored car isn’t limited to the masses as the owner of this Rolls Royce Phantom proves. According to the team over at Autogespot, it belongs to a UK resident named Alan who happens to own a number of exotic supercars including a Lamborghini Murciélago LP640 Roadster, Pagani Zonda F Roadster and a Spyker C8 Spyder.

Mini to Use Rolls Royce-Prepped Goodwood as a Sub-brand for Bespoke Models

In the same way the John Cooper Works moniker designates high-performance models,
Mini plans to use the Goodwood name as a sub-brand for high-end luxury versions of its cars. According to British magazine Autocar, which quotes sources from within the company, the Goodwood badge will be used on luxurious, bespoke Minis just like the JCW badge is put on its high-performance models.
The first model of the Goodwood line is the “Mini Inspired by Goodwood”, which made its world premiere at the Shanghai auto show. The car is essentially a Cooper S that sports unique styling cues and trim options designed “in close collaboration” with Rolls-Royce. The name itself pays tribute to Rolls-Royce's headquarters, while the Shanghai unveiling signals the importance of the Chinese market for very expensive Minis.

MINI by Rolls Royce: Posh Limited Edition Model Revealed Ahead of Shanghai Show

A couple of years back, we shared some scoop photos of a prototype MINI with styling elements from Rolls Royce models. A company spokesman had then confirmed that the car was real, but to the dismay of many fans, he said that it was a one-off for a special dealer event. If you happened to like the idea of a Rolls-Royce-flavored MINI we have some good news for you as the British company will premiere a special edition model at the upcoming Shanghai Auto Show next week.
The limited production model is called “Mini Inspired by Goodwood”, with the name paying tribute to Rolls Royce’s headquarters. Only 1,000 examples of the special Mini will be built at the British firm’s Oxford plant, with first deliveries to take place in the spring of 2012.
