All 100 Limited-Edition Mopar ’14 Dodge Challengers Sold Out in One Day

Mopar announced that all 100 limited-edition Mopar ’14 Dodge Challenger vehicles have sold out in just the first day after being made available to dealers. Following in the footsteps of the Mopar ’10 Challenger, Mopar ’11 Charger, Mopar ’12 300 and Mopar ’13 Dart, the Mopar ’14 Challenger is the rarest limited-production Dodge Challenger offered to date.

Dodge Unwraps New 100th Anniversary Editions for Charger and Challenger

Since Dodge will be turning 100 next year, the Chrysler-owned brand has announced 100th Anniversary Editions for two of the most desirable models in its current range, the Charger and Challenger.

Scheduled for a world premiere at the LA Auto Show, the commemorative models feature unique style, technology and features, as well as retro design details.

Both limited production vehicles will share several unique elements including the new “High Octane” red pearl coat paint, all-new 20-inch aluminum wheels, commemorative badging, unique key fob and a special limited-edition owner’s kit and commemorative book that celebrates 100 years of Dodge heritage.

The 2014 Dodge Charger 100th Anniversary Edition model brings “Dodge Est. 1914” bar-style front-fender badges and special Dodge “100” logo on the center caps, as well as a body-color rear spoiler. Hemi models also get a red “R/T” heritage grille badge.

On the inside, the limited edition Charger features all-new Molten Red or Foundry Black Nappa leather with a custom cloud overprint on the sport seats, center console armrest and door armrests. There’s also a three-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel featuring die-cast paddle shifters, Dark Brushed Graphite center console bezels and Liquid Graphite steering-wheel accents. Centennial “Dodge Est. 1914” circular badges are placed on the front seatbacks, joined by embroidered anniversary logos on the floor mats.

Based on the 2014 Dodge Charger SXT Plus model, the 100th Anniversary Edition features the 300hp 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. The limited-edition model can also be fitted with the 370hp 5.7-liter Hemi V8 engine. All 100th Anniversary Editions also include sport mode calibration and performance-tuned suspension. The 2014 Dodge Charger 100th Anniversary Edition package is available for a $2,200 (€1,630) premium over the SXT Plus or R/T plus trim levels.

Similar to the Charger, the 2014 Dodge Challenger 100th Anniversary Edition model features 20 x 8-inch polished five-spoke aluminum wheels with Granite Crystal pockets and matching Granite Crystal grille surround with script “Challenger” badge, as well as commemorative badges. The same Nappa leather upholsteries are available, as well as Liquid Graphite trim. Die-cast “Dodge Est. 1914” circular badges on front seatbacks and embroidered anniversary logos on the floor mats are also present, as is the red-marked “100” mph indication.

Based on the 2014 Dodge Challenger SXT Plus model, the 100th Anniversary Edition features a 305hp 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine, available with a six-speed manual or five-speed automatic. The package is also available with the 375hp Hemi V8 engine. The 2014 Dodge Challenger 100th Anniversary Edition package is available for a $2,500 (€1,850) premium over the Challenger SXT Plus or R/T Plus trim levels.

Both limited edition models will arrive in U.S. dealerships in the first quarter next year.

Dodge's SEMA Surprise Was the Return of the Challenger Shaker Plus New Scat Packs [72 Pics]

If you had high hopes for Dodge and Mopar's SEMA Show press conference after seeing the teaser of a covered sports car and reading the press blurb earlier today, then like us, you'll probably be disappointed after finding out that the surprise debuts were the return of the Scat Packages for three Dodge models and the introduction of a shaker hood for the Challenger.

Initially, Dodge will offer the new Scat Package performance upgrade kits for the 2014 Challenger, Charger and Dart beginning from spring next year at a "cost-effective price" – whatever that means.

For the 5.7-liter V8 HEMI-powered Challenger and Charger, there are three kits, with the first one adding an ECU, cold air-intake and cat-back exhaust, the second one pushing the power gains further with a camshaft, and finally, the third one that rounds out the package with performance ported and polished heads and hi-flow headers.

Owners of the 2.4-liter Dart GT will also have three options to choose from. The first stage kit includes a cold-air intake, short throw shifter and brakes with slotted rotors and performance pads. Go for the second stage and you get an ECU tune and a cat-back exhaust, while the third stage kit adds a big brake kit, and a sports suspension with adjustable springs and struts, plus different front and rear sway bars.

If you missed the classic shaker hood on the new Challenger, then there's good news for you with the release of new package sporting a fully functional Shaker hood with Mopar cold-air intake, conical air filter and optimized air box for "improved airflow and performance".

Dodge said that the Challenger R/T V8 Shaker also includes the Super Track Pak, with high-performance steering gear, brake linings and monotube shock absorbers, P245/45R20 Goodyear Eagle F1 Super Car three-season tires and three-mode electronic stability control (ESC) that can be fully deactivated for hooning or some tree hugging – Dodge didn't say that, we did.

Available as a $2,500 option on the Challenger R/T Classic, the 2014 Challenger R/T Shaker will land at Dodge dealerships in the first quarter of 2014 with pricing starting at $36,995 (excluding destination and handling), or $37,495 if you choose the custom hood-to-tail stripes.

Revealed next to the Shaker model is the new Mopar 14' Challenger of which only 100 examples will be built, making it the rarest limited production version of the series to date. While the SEMA car is finished in Bright White, the Mopar edition will also be offered with a Gloss Black exterior finish, both with a "Shaker style" stripe in "Mopar Blue" as standard, or optionally, with a choice of two different stripes.

The Mopar 14' comes with the new Shaker hood in a satin black finish sitting on top of the standard 5.7-liter V8 Hemi, while other special extras include the gloss black 20-inch wheels, and gloss black exterior trims and accents. Inside, there's a serialized instrument panel plaque, sport seats in black Nappa leather with blue accent threads, which also make their appearance on the pistol-grip shifter boot and three-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel.

Other goodies included in the package are a custom-crafted personalized owner’s manual, “Mopar” branded key fobs and Mopar ’14 memorabilia. Prices were not announced.
