McLaren P1 reviews filmed on the track

We have seen a fair share of McLaren P1 reviews filmed on the track, but I’m sure many of you wonder what the hypercar is like to drive on the eopen road. Autocar has an answer to this question, as Steve Sutcliffe had the chance to drive the P1 for three days on public roads, on the circuit and on an airfield and come up with a conclusion.

Mercedes Drops First Exterior

We have fresh news on the upcoming Mercedes-Benz AMG GT, as the Germans just released a darkened image of the exterior along with the first video teaser in advance of its world premiere "in the Autumn of 2014", which points to the Paris Motor Show in October, though, we hear that we might actually get a first look at it in July during the German Gran Prix.

Mercedes-Benz MLC in 63 AMG Guise, New

If you check out Mercedes-Benz' passenger car lineup, the only models that do not offer at least one AMG edition are the B-Class and V-Class minivans/MPVs and the GLK. As the brand's sportiest SUV, the upcoming MLC (the name has yet not been confirmed) could not be left without an AMG-badged version to go against the BMW X6M that's due for a replacement next year, and it is this model that our spies nabbed testing in Germany.

Mercedes CLA 45 AMG Hits the 400PS Mark, Courtesy of Brabus

For most people, the Mercedes CLA 45 AMG has plenty of power and sporty enough looks. Not for Brabus, though, as the German aftermarket specialist has released a styling kit for the most powerful CLA model.

Mercedes' Concept GLA 45 AMG Chooses LA Show for World Debut [w/Video]

Since many North American consumers shy away from hatchbacks but love hatchbacks that ride on tall suspensions and have plastic bits around their bodies, Mercedes has created the GLA crossover, which has now been lowered down a notch and decorated with aerodynamic parts to welcome the A45 AMG's 355HP (360PS) 2.0-liter turbo. We know, it all sounds confusing, but what can you do…

Announced today at the Los Angeles Auto Show, the GLA 45 AMG will be the second best thing to the A45 AMG five-door hatch, and since it does carry the crossover moniker, it will eventually be offered Stateside.

The only conceptual parts on the car are the liveries and the enhanced aerodynamic package with splitters and a bigger wing, though, even those will likely be offered either as an option, or as part of a special edition package on the production GLA 45 AMG.

Under all that crossove…ruggedness (we just kid), you'll find the same drivetrain as the A45 AMG, with a crazy 2.0-liter turbocharged four delivering 355hp (360PS) and 450Nm (332 lb-ft), connected to an AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT 7-speed sports dual clutch transmission and the AMG Performance 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system.

The car, which rolls on 255/35 R 21 tires on all four corners, is able to complete the zero to 100 km/h (62mph) sprint in under five seconds, always according to Benz.

Official Photos of New Mercedes-Benz's GLA 45 AMG Hot Crossover Concept

We still haven't heard where and when Mercedes-Benz is planning to reveal the new GLA 45 AMG Concept crossover, (for what it's worth, the German brand's LA Auto Show presentation is at 11:00 AM PST / 2:00 PM EST), but we now know exactly what the car will look like after a batch of official photos made their way online.

Initially teased through an official video on Tuesday, the GLA 45 AMG Concept is more or less the crossover version of the A45 AMG hot hatch and it previews an upcoming production model.

We would be surprised if the performance GLA came with any other powertrain than the A45 AMG's 2.0-liter turbocharged inline four rated at 355HP (360PS) and 450 Nm (332 lb-ft), paired to a dual-clutch seven-speed transmission and all-wheel drive.

The tall-riding crossover comes with all the usual AMG kit, from the modified bumpers, to the big alloy wheels, the quad pipes and aerodynamic enhancements.

Mercedes-Benz Video Teases New GLA 45 AMG Concept

Mercedes-Benz's AMG arm surprised us today with the release of a teaser video of a new Concept car, which may not be named in the title, but we can clearly see from the footage that it's the GLA 45 AMG.

No word yet on where Mercedes will unveil the production-ready study, however, since we have three international shows going on this week in Los Angeles, Tokyo and in Guangzhou, China, so we could see it in any of the three.

Since they are related, the AMG versions of Benz's compact crossover will likely adopt the entire powertrain from the A45 AMG comprising a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline four producing 355HP (360PS) and 450 Nm (332 lb-ft), a dual-clutch seven-speed transmission and all-wheel drive.

We'll keep an eye open and bring on the updates as soon as we get them.

Mercedes's AMG Vision Gran Turismo 1:1 Scale Model for Gran Turismo 6

Mercedes-Benz has presented the AMG Vision Gran Turismo, a concept of a super sports car that will be featured in the Gran Turismo 6 video game for PlayStation 3.

A 1:1 scale model, the coupe features extreme proportions and strong contours that emphasize the brute force of the 585PS (577hp) V8 engine.

The Stuttgart brand tells us that it envisioned the car to with an aluminum spaceframe body and carbon fiber components, weighing in at 1,385 kg (3,053 lbs), meaning the power-to-weight ratio is an impressive 2.4 kg per hp. No acceleration figures were offered, but Mercedes says the study has “exceptionally dynamic performance”.

The first in a series of Vision Gran Turismo” vehicles, the study will premiere on November 19, 2013, at the opening of the new Mercedes‑Benz Research & Development Center in Sunnyvale, California. The virtual debut of the car will be in December 2013, when the Gran Turismo 6 video game goes on sale.

The Mercedes-Benz AMG Vision Gran Turismo features a long bonnet that flows into a compact greenhouse offset to the rear, which is shaped like a water drop. The dramatic side contour, wheel arches and angled headlights reinforce the car’s powerful presence.

The study features motorsport details such as the release catches on the bonnet and the fuel cap, while red-glowing contour lines on the lower part of the vehicle create an effect similar to that of exterior ambient lighting. The radiator grille reminds of the 300 SL racing car of 1952, but features exclusively LEDs instead of louvres.

Inspired by a Formula 1 cockpit, the interior comes with red integral sports seats that blend into the black flooring of the footwell to form a protective shell. The dashboard is designed in the form of two gullwing doors that are positioned on each side of the steering column. As a result, the actual doors themselves appear to be an extension of the instrument panel.
