2015 Hyundai Sonata: Get a Detailed Look in 70 Live Photos and Videos

As so often happens with Hyundai when it introduces new models first in its home market, the international release on the 2015 Sonata was limited to preliminary info and only a handful of photos leaving the rest for the world premiere at the New York Auto Show in April.

Hyundai Reveals More Focused Veloster Turbo R-Spec in Los Angeles [w/Video]

The Hyundai Veloster Turbo is not a hot hatch, despite having a 201 hp 1.6-liter engine, sporty-tuned suspension and rakish looks. What it is basically, is a very fast commuter car that can outpace most regular models and keep up with faster motors when their drivers are not caning it.

Now though, on the occasion of the 2013 Los Angeles motor show, Hyundai has brought out the R-Spec model that not only promises to be sportier than the regular Veloster, but also be the cheapest Turbo that they offer.

There’s no extra power to boast about, however, the close-ratio six-speed manual gearbox does get a new sportier shift knob to play with, red exterior accents on the front bumper lip and sills, as well as red leatherette bolsters with red/black cloth insert on the standard-fit sport seats. An abundance of R-Spec logos also adorn it.

The only real performance enhancements that it does get is a suspension setup unique to this particular model. It should improve the lackluster driving dynamics accused by some reviewers, to a certain degree, with the help of electronic torque vectoring that like the one on the Ford Focus ST uses the stability and traction control systems to mimic the behavior of a limited-slip diff.

Finally, Hyundai will also offer Active Sound Design, which will artificially enrich the 1.6’s familiarly flat sound signature inside the cabin via the car’s audio system.

This Hyundai Car Salesman Can Really Bust Some Dance Moves

What started out as a joke after Joe Barzelay, Sales Manager of Eastern Shore Hyundai in Daphne, Alabama, wanted to show off his moves, with one of his colleagues, Charles Matthews, cheekily grabbing his camera to capture what he initially believed to be an embarrassing moment, has all the ingredients for a viral hit.

Matthews told Al.com that there were some street dancers at the Hyundai dealership for a promotional event when Barzelay told one of the dancers, "Let me show you what I used to do in the day."

"At that point, I pulled out my phone, because I was expecting something bad," Matthews told the news site. "We had no idea he was going to break out and do what he did that day."

As of now, the original video has garnered some 267,000 views, but that number is expected to increase, along with Barzelay's fame, who we wouldn't be surprised if we saw him starring in an official Hyundai television spot in the very near future.

Did Hyundai Omit 40mpg Claim on Elantra Super Bowl ad Because of Consumer Watchdog?

It happens to every new car buyer: you look at the car’s specs and among other things; you take notice of its official fuel economy numbers. Then you may discover that in real-world conditions, the mileage you eke out of a single tank is nowhere near the quoted figure.
The discrepancy is sometimes so big that you are either driving like a maniac (which in some cases may be true), or there’s something’s fishy with the official mileage estimates. Are consumers tricked by carmakers as far as fuel consumption is concerned, as some claim?
Consumer Watchdog (CW), a non-profit organization that advocates taxpayer and consumer interests, believes so and is making a fuss about it. The organization has urged the EPA to perform tests itself and has even threatened to employ “guerilla” tactics if its demands are not satisfied.
The latest issue was about Hyundai’s Super Bowl commercial for the 2012 Elantra that appeared on YouTube.

Hyundai Airs Four More Super Bowl XLVI Ads

The onslaught of Super Bowl commercials continues today with four more spots from Hyundai, in addition to the South Korean firm's Veloster Turbo "Cheetah" ad that we showed you earlier today.
From the new spots, the one that stands out the most for us is the "All for One", which is a 60-second commercial that will air just before the big game starts. The ad features almost 200 actual Hyundai team members humming to the sounds of "Gonna Fly Now" from the movie "Rocky, and was filmed at the brand's Montgomery plant in Alabama.

Hyundai's Super Bowl Spot Starring the Veloster Turbo and a Hungry Cheetah

It was to be expected that Hyundai's main commercial for the upcoming Super Bowl XLVI would encompass its most recent creation, the new 201-horsepower Veloster Turbo sports hatch that made its world premiere at the Detroit Motor Show earlier this month.
The 30-second spot is titled "Cheetah" and is slated to air on TV during the first quarter of the game. It shows a caged cheetah getting ready to race the Veloster Turbo. However, when the big cat realizes it can't beat the Hyundai model in speed it turns around to chase something a little more tasty.
Head over the break to see the new commercial along with a "behind the scenes" video before it airs on television.

VIDEO: 2011 Hyundai Elantra in Parking Competition

We're not exactly sure what's going on here -other than some men in suits trying to park the all-new 2011 Hyundai Elantra, but since this is the first video we've seen of the compact saloon out in the open, we thought we'd share it with you.

Leaner and longer than the current model with a styling that draws cues directly from the new Sonata, the next Elantra made its world debut at the Busan motorshow in Korea in April 2010 and is set to go on sale as the Avante MD in its home market before the end of the year. Hyundai's VW Jetta rival will be offered with a new 140-horsepower 1.6-liter foru cylinder petrol engine with direct injection technology.

2012 Hyundai Accent: #Pointless Sneak Peek of N.A-Spec Hatch on @Twitter

Unless Hyundai’s sneak peek has something to do with the interior décor of the 2012 Accent shown at the annual Coachella Valley Music And Arts Festival, there’s really not much to say about the South Korean firm’s cropped photo-posting on Twitter.
True, Hyundai will premiere its new sub-compact for the first time in the USA at the upcoming New York International Auto Show, but it won’t be a first per se as we’ve seen the new car in Beijing, in Moscow with a different name and face and more recently, at the 2011 Montreal Auto Show in January (see the video after the break).

Hyundai’s Futuristic Viral Ad Campaign for the New Accent [with Video]

In a very interesting melding of the virtual and real world, Hyundai has crafted a new viral ad to showcase its 2012 Accent sub-compact and highlight the brand’s new slogan “New Thinking. New Possibilities.". What makes this futuristic video intriguing is that the viral includes an actual 2012 Hyundai Accent suspended on a wall with a driver walking down the side to get into the car. At the same time, we see a film being projected on the wall creating an eye-catching combo.
See both the shorter and full version of Hyundai’s new viral of the 2012 Accent right after the jump.

Classic Ads: Why a Hyundai Excel is as Good as a BMW 325i

If this ad is to be taken seriously, the only difference between a late 1980s E30 BMW 325i and a Hyundai Excel is price and the engine / transmission layout. After all both have, “[A] plush interior, European styling [and] room for five.”
After all, niggling little details like equipment levels, brand image and build quality have never bothered car buyers before, right? Apparently not, as the Excel went on to become one of U.S.’s best selling imports, with 168,000 of the little blighters sold in its first year stateside. That’s a lot of, “Hun-days,” [sic].

Hyundai to Challenge “Marketing Conspiracy” with Super Bowl XLV Ads

With its three ads programmed to air during the Super Bowl XLV later in the day (Sunday, February 6), Hyundai wants to show the American public that not all compact cars have “uninspired design, cramped interiors and limited innovation”, as marketing portrays them. Two out of the three advertisements showcase the 2011 Elantra sedan, while the third features the 2011 Sonata Hybrid. Videos available after the break.
