The Convertible Premiere Edition also features suede-wrapped interior trim, carbon fiber accents, variable tuned performance exhaust system, Z51 Performance Package and Magnetic Selective Ride Control.
Other standard features are the wheels with “Stingray”-logo center caps, “Stingray”-logo interior sill plates and a five-piece set of Corvette-branded luggage from Thule – all from the Corvette Accessories catalog.
Each of the 550 units will have a unique VIN (vehicle identification number) sequence and unique dash plaques to mark their limited-run status.
The 2014 Corvette Stingray Premiere Edition Convertible will cost $77,450 (€57,142), including destination and delivery fees. Deliveries begin in early 2014.
If that’s too expensive, Chevrolet has also released a list of nine other Corvette gifts for the holiday season, starting from a $12 Corvette Stingray Rollerball Pen and ending with a $5,000 Corvette Heritage Neon Sign.
Other suggested gifts are a Monopoly Empire Game ($20) featuring a 2014 Corvette Stingray game piece to travel around the board, a 1:18 2014 Corvette Stingray ($38.50), a book about the seventh-generation Corvette ($40), Fisher Price Power Wheels Corvette ($275), a Corvette watch ($775) and Corvette Stingray Luggage ($910).

But there's actually a logical explanation behind the use of all these impressive sports and luxury cars. As pointed out by Drive Arabia, these…municipal vehicles are used for publicity purposes, and they seem to get the job done, as evidenced by our frequent postings.
Whether it's money well-spent, is another matter, but there seems to be so much cash flowing around in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) that nobody really cares.

Finished in what Forgiato describes as an "Aston Martin blue paint job", the C7 parade car is fitted with a wide body kit that adds several inches on both ends of the ride to make space for the deep-dish Forgiato Maglia-ECL cut-spoke wheels (21-inches at the front and 22-inches at the back) in a two-tone shade that matches the rest of the build.
Other touches include the reworked rear diffuser and the completely new front grille that works together with a carbon fiber lip spoiler.

But what if that vehicle was a Chevy Corvette Z06, a car with a big V8 engine, light plastic body boasting good handling, and the kit was an aftermarket one promising to add 265 horsepower into the concoction with not that much extra weight?
It’s the promise being made by a company called Quanta Products, out of Maryland. The QHP770 pack is first one offered by the new Quanta Hybrid Performance division that was recently started with the aim of putting together and selling these kits.
It is made up of two axial flux electric motors that are mounted into the differential at the back, a battery pack and two controllers. When set up, it’s claimed to deliver a combined rating of 770 hp. As you’d expect, the amount of torque on tap also shoots up, but not proportionally, to “over 1500 lb-ft” in total, or 2033 Nm – it should also be instant in its delivery.
The heaviest piece of the kit is the battery pack, but its 127 kg / 282 lbs extra weight will easily be offset by the wall of torque that it promises to deliver.
However, while it isn’t directly mentioned, mounting the electric motors on/in the differential may not allow the all-important “EV mode,” in which the car is able to shut off the (in this case) big V8 and silently drain the battery, before petrol starts to be burnt again.
This is certainly a cooler mod than supercharging one’s ‘Vette, and if there’s interest, it could be adapted to work on the new C7 Stingray, according to company officials. All we want to know now is how much it costs.

All that said, it comes to no surprise that car enthusiasts are racing the two models against each other, in this case, the all-new 2014 Corvette Stingray Z51 and the 2014 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500, both in bone stock form.
Before we let you go and see how the race went, allow us to refresh your memory on the cars' specifications:
- The Corvette C7 Z51 is priced from $54,795 and sports a new 6.2-liter naturally-aspirated V8 pumping out 455HP (339 kW or 461PS) and 460 lb-ft (624 Nm) of torque.
- The Mustang Shelby GT500 starts from $54,800 and is powered by a 5.8-liter supercharged V8 producing 662hp (494 kW or 671PS) 631 lb-ft (855 Nm) of torque.
Beginning with the latter, the C3's 5.7-liter V8 was enhanced with an array of parts from Edelbrock Performance, including new head, shafts and two twin carburetors. While the car hasn't been dyno-tested yet, Vilner expects the V8 to push out some 300-horsepower.
For the exterior, the Corvette was painted in a new pearl brown shade, while also receiving new LED tail lamps, LED daytime running lights, and LED turning indicators, along with a vintage suitcase made of camel leather that resides on the original chrome-plated boot rack.
Inside, Vilner re-did the entire interior in a combination of different leathers in beige and dark brown, accented with contrasting stitching (even the steering wheel stalks are dressed in stitched leather…). In addition, all wood veneer trims were replaced by inserts made of Corian material, while the design and lighting of the instrument panel gauges are also new.
