Russian Thugs Attack Drivers, Pay the Price for Starring in Dashcam Video

A trio of young hooligans, who viciously attacked a number of taxis in the Russian city of Ulyanovsk, located on the Volga River approximately 900 kilometers east of Moscow, were identified and apprehended by the police, thanks to dashcam-video evidence.

Mystery Crash: Where Did This Scooter Rider Come From?

Warning: Some viewers may find the accident scene disturbing

Okay, so here's the thing; we've watched this dash-cam footage of an accident involving a car and a scooter that took place in Taiwan's Kaohsiung City a number of times, but we still haven't figured out where the motorcycle rider came from.

Obviously, we're missing one or more clues from this scene, which would explain how the motorcyclist crashed into / hit the dark-colored sedan on the right hand side.

Unfortunately, the rider appears to be hurt, though we can't say for sure as the footage ends at that point.

Make your move across the break to carefully watch the incident and if you can, tell us from where the bike came from.

Russia's X Driving Files: Was a Man Ejected from the Trunk in this Rear End Crash?

Yes, we have yet another mystery from Russia's roads in our hands, one that calls for an explanation. We'll try our best to offer one, but feel free to watch the following dash-cam video and provide your own.

If you fast-forward the clip (we already did it for you), you'll see an older generation Mercedes-Benz E-Class W124 saloon crashing into the rear end of what looks like a Lada (mind you, we could be wrong on this one) with a man seemingly ejected from the car's trunk!

Don't worry, it doesn't look like he was hurt or anything as he immediately got up all by himself and ran back to the car to check out the driver and passengers.

What you do think happened here? Do share your thoughts below in the comments.

Beware of the Truck Before You Look Out for the Potholes

You have to feel for this poor driver who was traveling on a pothole-infested highway near the town of Buzuluk in eastern Russia.

While the person behind the wheel was trying his or her (the gender is not clear, but we do hear a female-like groaning in the end along with some chirping sounds of the same type you see in cartoons when someone is knocked in the head…) best to avoid all sorts of holes and badly nicked sections of asphalt without endangering the lives of other road users, a senseless truck driver thought it would be a good idea to attempt a passing on the opposite side.

And yes, there was a crash, but luckily, it wasn't a deadly one. See how this incident played out in the dash-cam footage that follows below.

Yep, It's Definitely Slippery When Wet

Ever get the feeling that it's not over until the fat lady sings? For sure, you might get that sense of disappointment watching the first seconds of this video as the dark grey hatch has already gone under the trench, but remember what we said in the beginning of this post?

Captured from the dash-cam of a fellow motorist who had stopped to help out the first distressed driver, a second accident came into light just moments later.

You can watch it for yourself in the video past the break, but we will say that, taking into account the oncoming traffic, the second driver should probably feel pleased in the end that nothing worse happened.

Gangnam Style: Try Explaining This to Your Insurer

Have you had the misfortune to be involved in a bizarre accident and then have to go explain to your insurer, the cops and perhaps even your family and friends, how it all happened?

Here's an example of what surely qualifies as a "bizarre" incident. From what we understand, it was filmed in South Korea and it shows a white car (at the 24 second mark) somehow ending up riding the side of a parked Hyundai Santa Fe…

Not sure how one does that, but this driver achieved it and was actually stuck in this position (the smoke coming out from the back suggests this was a rear-wheel drive car).

Hop over the break for the short dash-cam clip.

Cops Shoot at Minivan Mom with Five Kids Who Was Running Away from a Speeding Ticket

There is a fine line between enforcing the law and making ill use the power that you are bestowed with as a noble and honorable police officer. You are given a uniform, badge and gun in order to protect citizens, their rights and their safety, but as we’ve seen numerous times before, this line of work can bring out the worst in people, as was the case with this shocking incident from outside of Taos, New Mexico, involving a mother, Oriana Ferrell, and the minivan she used to ferry her five kids inside.

As you’ll notice in the dash cam video posted below, which is from October 28, she is pulled over, but acts erratically and enters an argument with the police officer who informs her that the reason for her pulling over was a speed limit infraction noted a few miles back, when she was reportedly doing 71 mph in a 55 mph zone.

Long story short, she tries to make a break for it as the officer returns to the squad car, but is then pulled over again and convinced at taserpoint to get out of the car. However, her eldest son of 14 years-old also gets out and tries to attract the cop's attention in his direction, which he does, allowing his mom to get back into the driver’s seat.

As she does that, he too gets back in the minivan that then speeds off, while a different officer pumps rounds into the back of the people mover for good measure. Why does he do that knowingly? He must not really like kids or probably felt threatened by the 14 year-old and his cap that was not perfectly lined up.

Ed. note [John Halas]: While I certainly agree with Andrei that the cops should have never used ammunition on a car packed with kids (that's unacceptable), I must add that, in my opinion, the mother acted in an irresponsible way as well. For one, she should have never be going so fast (given what the officer reported was true) with five kids inside, but more importantly, she should have never placed her children in such a dangerous predicament in the first place by driving away not once, but twice from the cops. What do you think?

Oh, Sh!t! Mikko Hirvonen Crashes Into a Pile of Manure During Rally GB

Talk about a stinky ending for Mikko Hirvonen's 2013 World Rally Championship campaign at the Wales Rally GB this past weekend. The Finnish rally pilot and his and his co-driver, Jarmo Lehtinen, had an unfortunate exit when their Citroen DS3 WRC crashed and they were forced to retire from the race.

Accidents happen at rallies and we may have not even mentioned it if there wasn't something truly foul-smelling about the crash. You see, Hirvonen landed the DS3 into a…pile of manure, which flooded (bad choice of words, I know...) the cabin.

After the accident, a manure-covered Hirvonen talked to reporters placing the blame on his co-pilot.

"It was a small mistake from Jarmo," Hirvonen said. "We had a really long flat sixth-gear corner which tightens into fifth but for some reason Jarmo never mentioned that it tightens so I just went flat out and it was a little bit too fast."

See the manure incident from a first-person perspective in the video after the jump.

Crazy Crash from Belarus Proves Horses Understeer Too...

Just when I thought I had seen it all, a traffic accident (let’s call it that) from Belarus reminds me never to say that again. How would you feel if you were waiting patiently at a traffic light when all of a sudden a horse-cart came speeding towards you?

It’s not a very pleasant image, but for a driver from Belarus it was as real as it gets. The cart’s driver (supposedly not very sober) whipped the horse so bad that the poor animal entered the curve too fast and, being a “front-leg drive” vehicle, the cart oversteered.

It’s one of those surreal crashes that you can’t believe it happened even though you saw it with your own eyes – hence the lack of reaction from inside the crashed car fitted with a dash cam. As for the outcome of the crash, the horse was hopefully okay (but I could be wrong) as it jumped over the car, but the two passengers from the cart have probably been thrown in the air from the impact. Scroll down to watch it.

Belarusian Rider Showing Off Slips and Gets Trapped Under his Bike…

Oh, yes, this is one of those videos that will force you to push your palm gently (or not) towards your face. Caught on film from a following vehicle's dashboard camera on the streets of Minsk in Belarus, the incident begins and ends with a frisky motorcycle rider showing off. However, it's what took place in between that interests us the most.

At a set of lights (about 45 seconds into the video), our energetic rider blasts off with a tail spin, but he didn't actually get away more than a few feet as his bike slipped and fell…on top of him.

In fact, he was trapped under the bike and several motorists had to jump out of their cars and get him out of this embarrassing situation. And no, he didn't learn anything. I think we’ll be seeing him in the near future in another video…

Idiots Get a Second Chance in Life After Playing Around with Cell Phone

Yes idiots; why? For starters, I can't believe that in this day and age, and after so much information has become so widely available about the importance of wearing a seatbelt, some people just don't get and refuse its use.

And if that's not enough, the young woman in this video who was not wearing her seatbelt, was also fooling around with her phone and distracting the driver by taking pictures and placing the device in front of him.

Of course, it didn’t take long for something bad to happen when the preoccupied driver veered off his lane / didn't pay attention on the road with a black SUV clipping off his exterior mirror – the couple should be extremely grateful that this was the only part clipped...

Here's hoping that they learned a very valuable lesson. Otherwise, our Russian dash-cam section awaits them…
