Zagato's one-off Lamborghini Gallardo-based 5-95 may feature a controversial design, but I have to admit it is impossible to ignore. Yes, yes, this is the now infamous matte-black Lamborghini Aventador LP640-4 that went airborne after colliding with a Mazda2, before striking a parked BMW 3 in London this past Sunday, stirring quite a commotion in the online world, with some people placing the blame on the tall Japanese hatch, but most, on the Italian supercar's driver.

Experience the Vector M12 – America’s Mid-Nineties’ Lamborghini

The Vector M12 is a very rare supercar built in the United States between 1995 – 1999 in only 17 examples (not 14 as the video title would have you believe). Its body looked Italian, even though it was not, but the chassis and engines were both derived from those used in the period Lamborghini Diablo supercar.

Power from the 5.7-liter V12 engine was rated at around 490 hp, while torque was around 576 Nm, or 425 lb-ft; the benchmark sprint came up in a mediocre 4.8 seconds, while top speed was a more acceptable 304 km/h or 190 mph.

The video posted below shows two of these uber-rare fiberglass-bodied machines, one of which is wearing the US stars and stripes, being featured in magazines back in the day, while the other one is yellow. The latter is the car that is driven, and while it may lack the purity of the true Italians, it still looks very interesting, even all these years after it was launched and quickly phased out due to its high price.

Perhaps it’s better that there are very few of these, and it makes it all the more interesting. Besides, if they really wanted to make more of them, something should definitely have been done about that interior which, even by (low) mid-nineties American standards of quality looked quite nasty…

Lamborghini Cabrera Rendering Looks Spot On – Plus, Spy Video

The Lamborghini Gallardo replacement, strongly believed to be called Cabrera, is slowly taking shape in our minds. Set to be revealed at some point in 2014, its look is not really a secret to anybody, if you piece together the spyshots, different available renderings, as well as the current design language adopted by the Audi-owned Italian manufacturer.

The rendered interpretation you see here, brought to you courtesy of Wild-Speed, looks very close to what we think it will look like in production form. It features the visible front intakes shape, believable headlights, side intakes matching what we see in the spyshots, and equally believable rear clusters.

The overall shape seems spot on too, and the designer even ponders the addition of active rear aero, making two different interpretations of the rear – with or without a small spoiler.

Like many other companies these festive days, Italian supercar-maker Lamborghini is also embracing the Christmas spirit with a video that focuses on Santa Claus.
We meet the man in the red suit chilling out in a bar in the North Pole on Christmas Eve at 6:30 PM ordering multiple milkshakes with no intention to leave. The clock ticks pass 10 PM, but Santa shows no desire to stop drinking milkshakes, much to the dismay of the grumpy barman.

Lamborghini Tells us the End is Approaching for the Gallardo with a Video

In a few weeks from now, the most commercially successful Lamborghini model of all times with more than 10,000 worldwide sales, will enter its 10th year of production, which the Italian carmaker says will be the last for the current Gallardo.
Lamborghini made the announcement through a two minute-long film that takes us for a short trip to the Gallardo's birthplace, while also releasing a special webpage where customers can place their orders for the revamped 2013MY LP 560-4 models and which contains the following statement

This practice proved quite successful, as with nearly 13,000 units sold to date, the "baby Lambo" is the brand's best-selling model ever.

David Dopp earned his fifteen minutes of fame (or is that shame?) after he trashed a $380,000 Lamborghini Murcielago Roadster, only six-hours after he received the keys to the Italian supercar that he had won in a Maverik "Joe Schmo to Lambo" contest.

Well, that’s exactly what happened to David Dopp, a 34-year old truck driver living in Santaquin, a town of 9,000 residents near Salt Lake City, Utah. He won a US$358,000 Lamborghini Murcielago Roadster in a “Joe Schmo to Lambo” contest that was sponsored by Maverik convenience stores.

Gumball Racer Turns Lamborghini Murcielago into an Amphicar…

When you are driving in remote areas in foreign countries, you never know what the road ahead is going to throw at you. In the case of Jon Olsson, a Swedish skier with a knack for superfast and exotic vehicles, what lied ahead at a border crossing between Greece and Turkey during the Gumball 3000 was more like a riverbed than a road…
Despite the fact that Olsson’s Lamborghini Murcielago LP 670-4 SuperVeloce (or SV for short) wasn’t exactly designed for these kind of road conditions, the Swede accepted the challenge and successfully passed the water crossing without any problems.

EVO Takes Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 for a Spin Around the Track

After jumping into the driver’s seat and onto the circuit for a few quick rounds, EVO’s Harry Metcalfe concludes that the Murcielago’s successor is a “real game changer” and possibly the “best super sports car in the world right now”.

Watch a Lamborghini Aventador Being Assembled Piece by Piece in a Museum!

You may remember the international media launch of the Lamborghini Aventador held last month in Rome. There were so many videos coming from Italy's capital that we didn’t know where to start from. And guess what? It ain’t over yet as we have one more video, one far more interesting. Among the many events related to the Aventador launch there was also a display inside the “Chiostro del Bramante”, a contemporary art museum located in the historical center of Rome.
Entitled “La Forza del Toro” (Italian for “The Force of the Bull”), the exhibition consisted of a Lamborghini Aventador and five V12 engines from different periods of time. Nothing out of the ordinary so far, except the fact that builders of the 16th century building erected it without anticipating that a 2.03-meter wide, 4.78-meter long supercar would one day have to come inside…

Good news for those of you that just can’t get enough of the Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4, the new V12 supercar from Sant’Agata. After the media presentation of the jagged nose Raging Bull model that took place on the busy streets in and around Rome, Lamborghini gave members of the press a chance to get behind the wheel of the Aventador at the Autodromo Vallelunga Piero Taruffi racing circuit, which situated some 20 miles (32km) north of Italy’s capital city.
